A dance or parade without drums or a Christmas without zambomba to us would seem unusual, given that all the skinned instruments have been and will continue to be the perfect and irreplaceable rhythmic complement of aerophones (bagpipes, dulzainas, one handed flute, Basque flutes, etc.) in the majority of traditional musical ensembles of the Iberian Peninsula.
