A program of traditional ballads with possible origins from the 15th century. The Sephardic Jews were forced to leave the Iberian Peninsula due to the religious inquisition at the end of the 15th century. Ever since, they have preserved and recreated musical cultures from the Iberian Peninsula in their destinations of diasporas, absorbing cultural influences from places other than the land that was once called "The Sefarad" (Spain and Portugal) in biblical origin.

There are also "kantigas" (songs) of daily life and semi-liturgical songs sung in Judesmo and Haketía, the languages of the Sephardic Jews in the east and the west of the Mediterranean Sea.
